Want More?

The Bloom Agency (Agency of Record for Forsyth Tech and the Forsyth Tech Foundation) distributes news releases and media alerts on a regular basis. If you would like to be added to our distribution list to receive press releases, please fax a letter indicating your name, the name of your organization, telephone number, fax number or e-mail address to Martha Murphy at The Bloom Agency – 336.724.1765.

Authorized Spokespersons

Forsyth Tech's authorized spokespersons for the college are the President of the College or the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

All news media requests, questions, interviews and press releases must be directed to, and approved by, the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and/or The Bloom Agency - the College's Agency of Record.

In responding to media inquiries, it is important that the authorized college spokespersons respond promptly or within a timeframe agreed upon with the media representative. If a representative of the media contacts you, please immediately refer them to Dr. Shari Covitz, at 336.734.7520.

Media Opportunities

Forsyth Tech offers a variety of excellent programs taught by outstanding individuals. It is important to spotlight these programs, the students who excel in them and the instructors who often don't just teach the course, but have developed it themselves.

In an effort to project our excellence in a concise manner, faculty and staff should contact Shari Covitz , Vice President for Institutional Advancement either via e-mail or by calling at 336.734.7520 to discuss such opportunities. Many times a well-timed press release will garner a story in the newspaper or even a story on the local news. However, beware of over-exposure and confusion. If a media outlet is contacted several times in a short amount of time, or if several people contact the same reporter, often the outcome is avoidance by the media.

To avoid this, Forsyth Tech has designated spokespersons to dispense information to the media. The president of Forsyth Tech, the vice president for Institutional Advancement or Martha Murphy of The Bloom Agency (College’s agency of record) should be the only people to contact the media or answer media inquiries. This is also the case during any type of crisis on campus affecting our students or the surrounding community.
