Program Mission/Overview:
The mission of Nuclear Medicine Technology is to provide opportunities for qualified individuals to participate in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences that will allow them to acquire the knowledge base and skills needed to perform as competent entry-level Nuclear Medicine Technologists and the didactic and clinical knowledge that will allow them to successfully challenge the national certification exam(s) for Nuclear Medicine Technology

Reaccreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Average class size 8.4 students
Average percentage completion 83.3%
Average percentage employed in Nuc Med within 3 months 94.3%
Average percentage employed locally 60%
Average percent pass on first attempt on Certification Exams 85.7%
Job Placement
Employment opportunities for graduates from the Nuclear Medicine Technology program are primarily in hospital settings. Some employment opportunities also exist in Out-patient Imaging Centers and with Mobile Imaging Servises
For 2000 thru 2004 60% of the graduates from the program have been employed within the triad and approximately 10 % found employment outside of North Carolina.
Clinical Facilities
This Program uses Clinical Facilites at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, and High Point Regional Health System.
Program Costs
The cost of this program depends on the North Carolina Legislature. Based on the 2004 – 2005 academic year the Tuition and Fees cost of the program would be:
Resident $2,785.00 (based on 5 semesters)
Non-Resident $14,413.00 (based on 5 semesters).
In addition to the tuition and fees of the program the student would also be responsible for the cost of:

Uniforms
Living Expenses (housing, food, transportation, etc.)
