Program Mission/Overview:

The Practical Nursing Program provides an opportunity for students to become Licensed Practical Nurses through classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences to meet the needs of the community.

Upon completion of the Practical Nursing Program:

  • As a provider of care, the graduate utilizes the nursing process and functional health patterns to promote, maintain, or restore health to diverse clients throughout the lifespan.
  • As a member within the discipline of nursing, the graduate assumes responsibility for applying ethical and legal principles within the scope of practice. The graduate will maintain accountability for professional development.


The Practical Nursing curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults. Students will participate in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.

Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Program costs listed are estimates and subject to change. Tuition is based on the in-state rate of $42.00 per credit hour.  Total tuition cost (44 hours): $1,848.00

Job Placement

Graduates are employed in a variety of settings such as hospital, rehabilitation/ long-term/ home health facilities, clinics and physician offices.
Clinical Facilities

Classroom and laboratory sessions are offered during the day; clinical hours may be scheduled during any part of the 24 hour day, seven days a week.

Typically clinical experiences are focused in hospitals, clinics, physician offices and long-term care agencies
