Detention Officer Certification Training
Course description
Trainees must successfully pass a State administered exam as well as demonstrate competency in all skill areas in order to be eligible for certification as a detention officer. Lecture, demonstrations and practical exercises are the primary methods of instruction. This course is offered under guidelines and requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Sheriffs Education and Training Standards Commission.
Sessions run 4 weeks, 40 hours per week; 160 hours total.

Possible Salary Ranges:
- Correctional Officer $11.99 -- $13.99/hour
- Detention Officer $11.99 -- $14.11/hour
High School Diploma/GED is required for this class.
