Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a program of instruction designed for adults who lack skills in reading, writing, speaking, problem-solving or computation at a level necessary to function in society, on a job or in the family.
Adult Basic Entrance Requirements
- Students must be at least 16 years old to enroll in any class
- Students must attend orientation
Orientation Days, Times and Location
- Monday, through Thursday (4 days) at :
- 9 a.m. (3 hours each day)
- 1:30 p.m. (3 hours each day)
- 6 p.m. (3 hours each day)
- Room 20 on the West Campus
Orientation Requirements
- Attend all four days in order to enter the program.
- Attend same time session each day
- Late arrivals will not be admitted
Documents that must be brought to orientation:
- Social Security Card (signed) (copies not accepted)
- Government or state issued photo ID (no school or work ID's accepted)
- If applying for Adult High School: High School Transcript from last high school attended
Minors (Ages 16 & 17) must bring:
- Social Security Card (signed) (copies not accepted)
- Government or state issued photo ID (no school or work ID's accepted)
- Minor Release Form - GED/AHS
(Requires notarized signature of parent or guardian. This minor release form is for Adult High School/GED students ONLY.)
