Where do I go to pay a Forsyth Tech parking ticket?

(Call for payment options.) (Note: extension campuses do not take cash)

Parking fines can be paid at the following locations:

Where do I go to sell back books at the end of the semester?

Where do I go to purchase textbooks?

Textbooks and other materials can be purchased at:

Do you have a student handbook?

The student handbook is combined with the calendar/planner.  The e-catalog (found on www.forsythtech.edu) also contains valuable student information.

Where do I go if I have lost or found something on campus?

Can I have my cell phone in class?

Forsyth Tech considers the use of cell phones to be disruptive to the classroom setting. Therefore, students are to turn off all cell phones while attending class or participating in class-related activities (i.e., labs, clinicals, etc.). The use of other electronic devices (such as laptops, netbooks, PDAs, recording devices, etc.) for learning purposes is permitted provided they do not disrupt the learning environment or create an academic integrity issue. The instructor may at his/her discretion prohibit the use of any electronic device. Students who do not comply will be considered in violation of the Student Code of Conduct, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken (Student Code of Conduct Rule 11).

Where do I go if I need help from an outside agency?

  • The Shugart Women’s Center at Forsyth Tech is available to all students.  It is located on Main Campus in Hauser Hall, Room 206.  The telephone number is  336.734.7280
  • Additionally assistance is also available at Counseling, Career and Disability Services located on Main Campus in the Allman Center, Room 148. The telephone number is 336.734.7226.
  • The James A. Rousseau II Minority Male Mentoring Program, located on Main Campus in the Allman Center, Room 114. The telephone number is 336.757-3385.

Where do I go if I want to use the on-campus computer lab?

For general classes please visit the Learning Center located on Main Campus in Ardmore Hall, Room 143. The telephone number is 336.734.7480

Students taking Business Technology courses can use the Business Technology computer lab on Main Campus in Hauser Hall, Room 246.  The telephone number is 734-7223.

Our extension campuses offer non tutored computer labs.

Does the Shugart Women’s Center offer funding for childcare?

No, Students are referred to the Student Financial Services Office of Forsyth Tech to complete a state childcare application.  Students are also referred to Smart Start of Winston Salem.

Can I bring my child to class?

Children are not allowed in classrooms or shop areas during class sessions, nor may they be left unattended in the library, in The Grill, student lounge or on campus grounds (Student Code of Conduct Rule 13).

Where can I get a school calendar?

Student Calendar/Planners are available in the Deans’ offices, and various locations throughout campus.

What does the Student Retention Manager do?

The Student Retention Manager works to improve and support various processes that influence student success. By doing so, there will be an increasing number of students who successfully complete their educational goal at Forsyth Tech.

What are the benefits of enrolling in the Minority Male Mentoring Program (MMMP)?

Some of the benefits include: Group and individual mentoring, student leadership development, participation in life skills workshops, mock interviews, resume development and building, university tours, referrals for community resources and other incentive programs.

Is there a cafeteria or restaurant on campus?

The Grill at Forsyth Tech housed on the bottom floor of the Hauser building offers daily specials as well as a wide variety of delicious breakfast and lunch selections.

The Bytes & Beans Café on main campus at the North End of the Parkway building offers premium coffee products, sandwiches, salads, snacks, cakes and pies.

In addition there are vending machines in several buildings and the bookstore offers drinks and snacks.

Is there a college catalog?

The College catalog is available as an e-catalog on the College’s website at http://www.forsythtech.edu/discover/e-catalog-publications/.

Does the Shugart Women’s Center make referrals to local agencies?

Yes, Family Services, Legal Aid, Safe on Seven, ESR (Experiment in Self Reliance), Salvation Army, etc.
