Career Description

Students enrolled in the Radio Broadcasting Production Technology diploma curriculum will develop professional skills in broadcast related applications, including radio and audio production. Graduates may choose to pursue an advanced degree.

Careers Available

Graduates are prepared to work in radio and other broadcast related fields. They are given the skills necessary to work in a multimedia environment that includes, on-air presentation, audio production, broadcasting management, and broadcast sales or marketing.

Entry-Level Salary

$25,000 – $40,000/yr.

Course of Study

Training will emphasize speech, script writing, radio production planning, editing, and post production. Students will also study the development of the radio broadcasting industry, sales, ethics, law, marketing, and management. Hands-on training and teamwork approaches are essential to the instructional process.

English, math, computer, writing, and communication skills.

Helpful Personal Attributes

Good analytical, problem solving, and time management skills, inquisitive, creative, and good research skills. Ability to work individually and as a member of a team, good communication skills: written and verbal.
