Career Description
This program prepares individuals to assist the dentist in the delivery of dental treatment and to function as an integral member of the dental team while performing chair side and related office and laboratory procedures.
Careers Available
Dental Office Administration, Dental Assistant in one of several dental specialties, Dental Laboratory Technician, careers in Public Health and professional Education.
Entry-Level Salary
- $18,000 - $25,000/yr.
Course of Study
Instruction includes biomedical sciences, dental sciences, clinical sciences and clinical practice. Students will gain knowledge in infection/hazard control, radiography, dental materials, preventive dentistry and clinical procedures.
Recommended Courses and Skills
High school biology, high school algebra, (or equivalent college level courses) are required for acceptance into this program.
