Career Description
The Environmental Science Technology program is designed to prepare individuals for employment in environmental testing/consulting and related industries. Major emphasis will be placed on biological and chemical evaluation of man’s impact on the environment.
Careers Available
Students will be prepared for entry-level positions that require the following: Chemical Analysis, Biological Analysis, Water/Wastewater Treatment, EPA Compliance Inspections/Audits, and Contaminated Site Assessment/Remediation.
Entry-Level Salary
$22,000 - $37,000/yr
Course of Study
Course work includes biology, chemistry, mathematics, technical communications, introductory and advanced courses in environmental science technology.
Recommended Courses and Skills
High school algebra II, biology, chemistry and computer skills.
Helpful Personal Attributes
Ability to work as a member of a team, good communication skills (both written and verbal), strong organizational skills, and a curious mind for science and mathematics.
