Program Mission/Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Program provides opportunities for qualified individuals to participate in classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences needed to earn their A.A.S. NMT degree, successfully challenge a national NMT certification exam, and perform as competent, entry-level Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

Reaccreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

The following data is based on the 2007 thru 2011 graduating classes.
- Average class size - 10.2 (1st year) 7.6 (2nd year)
- Average percentage completion - 66.4%
- Average percentage employed in Nuc Med within 3 months - 35.8%
- Average percentage employed locally - 59%
- Average percent pass on first attempt on Certification Exams - 91.4%
Job Placement
Employment opportunities for graduates from the Nuclear Medicine Technology program are primarily in hospital settings. Some employment opportunities also exist in Out-patient Imaging Centers and with Mobile Imaging Servises.
Facilities
This Program uses Clinical Facilities at Wake Forest Baptist Health System, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Imaging @ Maplewood, High Point Regional Health System, and Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy.
Program Costs
The cost of this program depends on the North Carolina Legislature. Based on the 2011 – 2012 academic year, the Tuition and Fees cost of the program would be:
- Resident $5,692.00 (excludes textbooks)
- Non-Resident $20,284.00 (excludes textbooks).
