Part-time Instructor, Developmental Education – English/Reading (25 Positions)


The Part-Time Instructor, Developmental Education – English/Reading (25 Positions) will teach English in eight-week sessions on an “as needed” basis according to class enrollment. Other responsibilities include reporting the results of tests and exams; submitting attendance reports and student drop forms in a timely manner; creating a syllabus according to a prescribed format; attending training sessions for the on-line supplemental instruction and maintaining progress records; providing accommodations to students with special requirements; and learning and using the college’s email system. The incumbent may teach on multiple campuses either day or evening or both.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education or Secondary Education, with a concentration in Language Arts.  **Note:  Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACS.**

The salary range for this position is $27.30 to 28.75 per hour, based on experience and academic credentials.
