New ideas. Bold leadership.
Our success depends on both.
A Welcome From The President
It is with great pleasure that I serve as president of Forsyth Technical Community College. I truly appreciate the chance to work with our students and community. Forsyth Tech has a great reputation among community colleges throughout the southeast and the nation for quality instruction and service to the Winston-Salem area. The college is poised for even greater accomplishments in the future. Below are some of the basic commitments I have made to the board of trustees, the college and the community.
- First, we will be committed to learning and student success. The college will be successful only in so much as our students are successful in achieving their educational goals.
- Second, we will be committed to work force development. Whether our students are pursuing a course, a certificate, an associate degree, or ultimately a baccalaureate degree, their goals are typically to enter or improve their position in the workplace. We also must recognize the important role we have in providing employers with an educated work force.
- Finally, we will be committed to broader community development. Forsyth Tech has an opportunity to lead our community by being an institution that is inclusive of all; by being a partner in ensuring that the youth of our community (our future students) have the resources they need for success; and by providing our students with the education and skills needed to be good citizens.
I look forward to the many opportunities that Forsyth Tech has before it and working with the board, employees and community to take the college to a new level of excellence in learning and service.
