I took the TEAS at Main Campus – is that the same thing as the Health Education (TABE) Placement Test or the ACCUPLACER test?

  • The Health Education Placement Test (TABE) is not the same as the TEAS test.
  • The TEAS cannot be substituted for the Health Education Placement Test (TABE) or the ACCUPLACER.
  • The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Test is required for all students who are interested in pursuing a degree in Nursing, either ADN or LPN.  The TEAS score is added to points earned from related course work and is used in ranking eligibility into the desired curriculum Nursing program.  The TEAS test is not relevant to the CNA program.
  • You will not be required to re-take the Health Education Placement Test (TABE) or ACCUPLACER test if your results are on file in the Health Education Department or if you have a copy of your previous results.  Health Ed maintains a copy of Placement Test results for 3 years IF the student took a Health Education class.
