NAM-Endorsed Skills Certification System
Forsyth Tech is one of four colleges in the United States selected by the Manufacturing Institute to pilot the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)-Endorsed Skills Certification System. NAM is the nation’s oldest and largest broad-based industrial trade association and represents 14,000 companies in every industrial sector.
Through the NAM-Endorsed Skills Certification System, Forsyth Tech offers nationally recognized credentials to students enrolled in these advanced manufacturing credit programs: Computer-Integrated Machining, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Welding, and Industrial Systems Technology. Acquiring these credentials will increase the students’ workforce opportunities and improve the hiring process for manufacturers. These credentials are offered to students at no additional charge.
To earn these credentials, students enrolled in the four previously mentioned programs will be given the national Career Readiness Certificate test. Students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Technology, and the Computer-Integrated Machining programs will earn credentials from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). Our Industrial Systems Technology students will earn credentials from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), and our Welding students will test for certification in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards.
