North Carolina Community College Childcare Grant
The North Carolina Community College Childcare Grant Program was established by the North Carolina General Assembly to assist student-parents with their childcare needs. As the goal of this grant is, in part, to promote the completion of an educational program, student-parents receiving childcare assistance at Forsyth Technical Community College will be eligible for funding for two academic years (Fall & Spring) for the pursuit of an associate degree and one academic year (Fall & Spring) for the pursuit of a diploma or certificate.
The Office of Student Financial Services advertises the availability of childcare assistance proceeding the next award year by sending an all-user email to college faculty and staff, by placing an advertisement in the Information Weekly, on the Student Financial Services bulletin board, and on the financial aid web site.
Childcare fees paid to the provider are the responsibility of the parent. Forsyth Tech will reimburse the student-parent directly for appropriate childcare expenses. The reimbursement check will be disbursed directly to the student upon receipt of an invoice from a childcare provider accompanied by a student's class attendance record.
The institutional guidelines for the North Carolina Community College Childcare Grant Program are as follows:
