Frequently Asked Questions About the Park & Ride Shuttle Service

  • Q: Where do I park to catch the shuttle?
    A: In the designated parking lot at Hanes Mall. It is near O’Charley’s.
  • Q: What are the times the shuttle will run?
    A: Every 20 minutes from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm.
  • Q: What dates will the shuttle run?
    A: It will be available from August 22, 2011 through October 28, 2011.
  • Q: Is it free?
    A: Yes the shuttle is free to all Forsyth Tech students, faculty, and staff.
  • Q: Do I need to show anything?
    A: Yes you need to show a valid student or employee school ID card.
  • Q: Do I need to have a Forsyth Tech parking sticker on my car at the mall?
    A: Yes
  • Q: How long does will it take for the one-way trip (mall to school and school to mall)?
    A: Ten minutes is allotted for each one-way trip.
  • Q: Where at Forsyth Tech will I be picked up and let off?
    A: At the bus stop on Miller Street.
  • Q: What if there are too many for the shuttle to hold?
    A: It is a “first come, first serve” process.
  • Q: What if I miss the 2:00 shuttle going back to Hanes Mall?
    A: Arrangements will be made to assist those who missed the shuttle by contacting campus police. However, with limited staffing and other police service calls, there may be a delay in this service.
  • Q: What if I have an emergency, such as locking my keys in my car?
    A: Arrangements will be made to assist those who lock their keys in their car or need a jumpstart. Those requesting this service should contact campus police. However, with limited staffing and other police service calls, there may be a delay in this service. Emergency calls have priority over any other call. Also, campus police will not provide this service to those who do not have a valid Forsyth Tech parking decal and who are not parked in the designated Forsyth Tech parking area. Crimes to vehicles and or persons while parked at Hanes Mall should be directed to the Winston Salem Police Dept.
