Admission Counseling
The Admissions Office strives to provide students with information and guidance regarding educational goal-setting and decision-making, college selection, college transfer, and strategies for academic success. Counseling, Career and Disability Services
The Counseling, Career, and Disability Services Office provide career testing, counseling, and information to students, prospective students, and the larger community. Additionally, the Counseling Center offers academic, career, and personal counseling to currently registered students. The Counseling, Career and Disability Services Office is located on the Main Campus, Room 148, the Allman Center, 336.734.7226.
James A. Rousseau II Minority Male Mentoring Program
The James A. Rousseau II Minority Male Mentoring Program is open to all minority male students at Forsyth Tech. Students meet monthly with members of the local business community, faculty, and staff at Forsyth Tech. The goals of the program are to provide an open forum for minority males to discuss issues and concerns with professionals and mentors. Shugart Women’s Center
The mission of the Shugart Women’s Center is to promote the educational, personal, and professional development of women attending Forsyth Tech by providing advocacy, referrals, information, and resources to assist in achieving positive outcomes. The Shugart Women’s Center is located on the Main Campus, Room 206, Hauser Hall, 336.734.7280.
Student Financial Services
The mission of Student Financial Services is to assist students in applying for financial aid, to promote financial aid awareness, to award funds in an equitable manner, and to administer all financial assistance programs at the College to insure compliance with regulations. Student Financial Services is located on the Main Campus, Room 261 the Allman Center, 336.734-7235.
Student Success Center
The mission of the Student Success Center is to address the needs of new and developmental students by improving the organization and delivery of advising services. Orientation sessions are in order to provide students more accurate information regarding credit program expectations and career possibilities. Individualized Learning Plans are used to provide students with the one-on-one support needed to help guide them through the process of envisioning and following through with their educational and career objectives. The Learning Center
Tutoring services offer several methods for helping students who are experiencing academic difficulties. Tutoring is done one-on-one and in small group sessions. Assistance is offered in many different subjects. Students are welcome to utilize this service by scheduling appointments with tutors or on a drop in basis. If you are in need of a tutor, it is important to meet with the Learning Center staff to discuss your individual needs. You will be provided with a form to fill out and have your instructor sign.
Student Activities
Forsyth Tech strives to offer its students more than just an academic education. Efforts are made to provide students with extracurricular opportunities for involvement that will help to educate the total individual. By providing these activities, Forsyth Tech recognizes that a college education includes social, professional, and cultural involvement, as well as academics. Fall Festival, Spring Fling, and Summer Splash are just a few of the wonderful opportunities for students to relax and enjoy themselves.
