Student Success Center

The Student Success Center is located in Room 164 of the Allman Center on Main Campus. The center coordinates new student orientations, academic advising, personal and career counseling and disability services.

Online Advising Pilot Dates

We are currently piloting online advising in the Student Success Center. An advisor will be available to speak with students online during the following dates and times:

A webcam and/or microphone are preferred, although an instant message function is available for those who do not have these materials.

To join an advising session during the listed times, please go to http://forsythtech.adobeconnect.com/advising/. Sign in as a guest using your first and last name, as well as your student ID.

During these sessions, the advisor will be able to

  • Discuss various programs and courses of study,
  • Share dates of upcoming programs and deadlines for registration, or
  • Provide guidance on course selection.

The advisor will not be able to:

  • Complete student withdrawal forms
  • Complete program change forms
  • Register students for classes

Personal counselors are here to help you deal with life issues that affect your progress at Forsyth Tech. The center also offers information and referrals for more intensive, specialized assistance, if needed. The counseling staff adheres to the ethical standards of the National Board for Certified Counselors.

While we can be contacted by phone or e-mail regarding personal concerns, it is recommended that Forsyth Tech students visit the Student Success Center in person, or visit a helping professional in their local area.  If you have an emergency, please call 911, or in Forsyth County call 336.725.7777.

Career Counselors offer advice on finding the right career, getting a better job, preparing for interviews and other career-related areas. We provide career testing, counseling and information to prospective and currently enrolled students.
