This course covers command-level operations for multi-company/agency operations involving fire and non-fire emergencies. Topics include advanced use of the Incident Command System(ICS), advanced incident analysis, command-level fire operations, and control of both man made and natural major disasters. Upon completion, students should be able to describe proper and accepted systems for the mitigation of emergencies at the level of overall scene command. |

·Student Learning Outcomes ·1. Describe the relationship between the fire department, local/state government, and the federal government in large scale and extended duration incidents requiring state and federal assistance or involvement. ·2. Explain strategic goals and tactical objectives for multi-family, commercial, and industrial/manufacturing fire incidents involving multiple agencies. ·3. Discuss operational considerations for special situations and occupancies including hotels, high rise structures, health care facilities, and public assembly/school buildings. ·4. Identify operational considerations for hazardous materials and terrorism incidents, and identify roles and responsibilities of responders from various agencies.
