Technical Standards for Culinary Arts Training
Culinary Arts Training Introduction
This hands-on course provides students instruction and the industry-recognized certification in ServSafe sanitation. Also included in this course basic culinary skills, knife skills, basic baking skills, kitchen safety, mass food and catering production and “cook chill” technology. Students will also receive job preparedness and retention instruction. This course includes a one-week internship, job placement assistance, and a weekly stipend for attendance. This course is offered in collaboration with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina’s Triad Community Kitchen and Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina.
Prerequisite: Must provide proof of attending open house tour at Second Harvest Food Bank. Call 336-784-5570 ext. 2014 to schedule an open house tour.

Culinary Arts Training Advanced
Interested in expanding your culinary skills and knowledge? If yes, Culinary Arts Training Advanced can do just that. Advanced culinary arts training students continue to build on their knife skills, and kitchen safety as well as advanced culinary skills specifically in Baking, Catering or Line Cook. Advanced culinary arts training students will participate in Off-site learning modules with participating establishments. This course is offered in collaboration with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina’s Triad Community Kitchen and Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina.
Prerequisite: Must provide proof of satisfactorily completing Culinary Arts Training Introduction or a previous Culinary Arts Training course.
