Forsyth Tech Community College. A place of promise. President's Message. Dr. Janet N. Spriggs.

Hello students!

I hope you had a great weekend and welcome to a new week, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities!

As we have seen the number of cases of COVID-19 continue climbing, I would like to ask everyone to remain cautious and compliant in our efforts on campus. Thank you for your cooperation in following the three W’s – wearing a face covering, waiting six feet apart, and washing your hands often – to protect yourselves and our campus community. We must continue to do everything we can to mitigate the spread of the virus.

If you receive an email link for the survey, we ask you to respond openly. Your responses will remain confidential. The results from the survey will help us find the best ways to make services better.

Thank you for letting us learn from your experiences.

Access the Library of Congress right here at Forsyth Tech!

Did you ever wonder what the Temple of Athena Nike, or the Acropolis, looked like? Lots of things can be viewed on the Library’s Techlink Page. The abbreviated directions from Techlink are: College Services – Library – Online Resources. From there scroll down to Digital Collections – Library of Congress. It is amazing what you can find there.

The difference between games and championships

“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”

– Michael Jordan

One of my favorite quotes from a much-loved North Carolina basketball player, Michael Jordan (I know this will not make everyone happy, but in my opinion, he is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT!). Michael had immense talent, but he knew there were four other players on the court with him, and it took more than talent, it took intelligence, strategy, and possibly most importantly, it took teamwork. Each member of the team played a critical role in the team’s overall success and “teamwork made the dream work” (to paraphrase another famous quote by servant leader and author, John Maxwell). Words cannot adequately describe how proud I am to be President of Forsyth Tech team, our faculty, staff and most of all, you, the students. I am grateful to all of you for your perseverance in your education, especially over the unprecedented and unimaginable past seven months. This is our championship season!

Take care and stay safe!

Warm regards,

Dr. Janet Spriggs
