Forsyth Tech Community College. A place of promise. President's Message. Dr. Janet N. Spriggs.

Hello Forsyth Tech students,

We have now wrapped up the summer semester and are eagerly looking forward to Fall 2020. Managing another term, within the limits of the pandemic, has not been easy, to say the least, yet, you all have continued to persevere in your classes and education.

I hope you have some time to recharge and take a breath between semesters, to prepare for the Fall semester. Learning in this time has its own obstacles, and I am so proud of how you have managed to demonstrate your resilience. I encourage you to continue not to lose momentum in your education. Here are a few updates as we look toward the first day of classes, August 17.

We continue to work hard to create successful learning and support opportunities for students in fall semester, while at the same maintaining our commitment to safety and remaining empathetic to the challenges we all continue to face due to COVID-19.

Student Identification Cards

We have a new ID system that we will roll out during the fall and into the Spring semester. Each Student will get a new ID (at left) that eventually will be used to swipe for purchases in the Bookstore and at the Grill, etc. Students will be able to submit formatted “selfies” as the photo. More details, including when students will be able to get their new card, will be sent to their Forsyth Tech email.

Navigate Forsyth Tech

Navigate is a comprehensive technology that brings together administrators, faculty, advisors, and staff to support students from enrollment to graduation and beyond. We will share more information with you and students as we will introduce the new technology soon!

Next Facebook Live

I have been enjoying engaging with our students and with so many of you in the Facebook Live sessions each week. I look forward to continuing these engagement opportunities with our next Facebook Live on Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. Please join me if you can – I look forward to talking with you and answering your questions.

Real Opportunity

“The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.”

B.B. King

Remember this quote as you bravely enter the fall semester. You are gaining knowledge that no one can take away from you. Stay safe!
