Forsyth Technical Community College has announced it has filled three key senior positions, adding depth to the college’s leadership team. Chris Pearce has been promoted to Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Information Technology Services. Anna Marie Smith has been hired as Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Linda Latham has been promoted to Dean for the Health Technologies division.
Pearce received his A.A.S. in Information Systems from Forsyth Tech, BS in Business Education and Information Technologies from East Carolina University and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Project Management from Western Carolina University. He has worked for the college for more than 17 years, serving as Coordinator for the High-Performance Computer Program, Manager of Web Services, and Director of Information Systems prior to his most recent promotion late last year.
Smith, whose position became effective in January, brings to the college 27 years’ experience in human resources, corporate learning and development, and diversity and inclusion having served in numerous senior-level positions with Wachovia and Wells Fargo. Smith earned a BA in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
Latham has worked for Forsyth Tech for 13 years. She came to the college initially as a member of the nursing faculty before being promoted to Program Chair of the Nursing program in 2005. She served as Director of Nursing for the past five years and was promoted to Dean of Health Technologies at the beginning of this year in recognition of her demonstrated leadership skills, vision for the college’s health programs and excellence in teaching instruction. She holds a Master of Arts Education in Adult Education from East Carolina University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Carolina University.
