Forsyth Tech to Showcase Short-Term Training Programs during Open House & Career Expo, Saturday, October 22

Forsyth Tech will hold an Open House & Career Expo to showcase 30 short-term training, job skills and personal enrichment programs on Saturday, October 22, from 10 am – 2 pm on the college’s West Campus, 1300 Bolton Street in Winston-Salem.  This event is free and open to the public. The media is invited to attend.

In addition to live program demonstrations that address employment opportunities in the community, more than 30 local employers will be on site to conduct initial job screenings for open positions. Attendees will have the ability to explore programs that can enhance their careers and to register for upcoming courses during the event.

“The programs available through our Economic & Workforce Development division are designed to help the people in our community gain or improve job skills,” says Juanita Murphy, Open House chairperson. “These programs offer a gateway to better jobs with local employers that can provide individuals and their families with greater levels of economic security.”

Among the career development and personal enrichment programs and services that will be represented are Job Counseling, Basic Skills, Electrical Lineman, Plumbing, Home Improvement, Culinary Arts, Computer Technology, Basic Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, Silversmithing, and Stained Glass as well as Corporate & Industrial Training options and Small Business Center resources.
