Honk to congratulate 12 recent graduates from Forsyth Tech’s Diesel & Heavy Equipment program.
The students, who earned their associate degrees in May 2016, each received a scholarship from the North Carolina Transportation Maintenance Council (NCTMC), a major sponsor of the college’s diesel program. The scholarship is awarded to students with a high GPA and a demonstrated ability to succeed in their field after graduation.
The students each received a $250 Snap-On Tools gift card to purchase tools at a deep discount, a benefit of the partnership between the manufacturer and Forsyth Tech.
In 2015, the NCTMC recognized two other Diesel & Heavy Equipment students – Daniel Hanna and Cody Styers – who participated in the annual Future Tech Challenge, sponsored by the American Trucking Association and the Transportation Maintenance Council. Daniel came in first and Cody won sixth place in the national competition held in Orlando in September 2015.
“We are proud that our program is one of the best in the country,” says Allen Doub, the college’s program coordinator for Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technology. “We’ve worked very hard to ensure our students receive the highest level of education and training available today.”
