About Megan

Megan started her career at Forsyth Technical Community College and earned an Associate Degree in Arts. During this time, she was a work-study at the Information Desk in the Oak Grove Center. She served as the welcoming face of the college and was able to connect to students over the phone. She then transitioned to the Student Success Center as a Student Orientation Leader where she assisted with on boarding new students and providing them the resources, they needed to begin a successful journey at Forsyth Tech. Most recently, she was a Full-Time Administrative Staff Assistant in the Student Success Center and quickly became an office go-to for information and assistance. The most important part of her years at Forsyth Tech has been encouraging students to persist through personal and educational hardships. As a first-generation student herself, she understands the difficulties of navigating college life and believes a supportive community is vital.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, crafting, and hiking with her husband. Her favorite guilty pleasure is eating Reese Cups and binge-watching comedies.

About Keyonna

Keyonna serves as the Academic Counselor for TRiO Student Support Services at Forsyth Technical Community College. As a first-generation college student herself, Keyonna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her Master of Science degree in Adult Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Keyonna began her career at Forsyth Tech as an Academic Advisor with the Student Success Center. In her role with TRiO, she is dedicated about providing advising, counseling, and supportive services to TRiO students to ensure that they thrive at Forsyth Tech and reach their academic and personal goals. When not working, Keyonna enjoys spending time with her son, reading, binge-watching Netflix series, cooking and traveling with family and friends.

About Jerald

As Director for TRiO – Student Support Services (SSS), Jerald is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the TRiO Office. Prior to assuming his current role, Jerald served as Director of TRiO Educational Talent Search & Program Coordinator if TRiO-SSS at NC A&T State University. Previously, he was employed with TRiO -Upward Bound at Virginia Tech as Assistant Director. Throughout his professional career he developed a strong passion for creating access and opportunity to college for underrepresented minority groups.

Jerald received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & African American History and earned a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Leadership from Western Michigan University. He is completing his Ph.D. in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Tech.
