The Foundation

The Foundation of Forsyth Tech raises, receives and administers gifts from individuals, corporations, private foundations, and other organizations and associations, and manages assets that support the mission, goals and objectives of the College.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and which means that donations are tax deductible as allowed under Internal Revenue Service guidelines.

The Foundation:

  • Raises money through private donations
  • Funds student scholarships
  • Makes professional development grants to faculty and staff
  • Conducts annual campaigns
  • Holds special events

In 2014-2015 the Foundation awarded $264,000 in scholarships that assisted 593 students. The Foundation also awards about $20,000 in professional development grants annually to faculty and staff.

The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors made up of business, educational and civic leaders from the College’s service area of Forsyth and Stokes counties. The board works with College leaders on fund-raising priorities to provide students with flexible educational pathways to a competitive workforce for the community and global economy.
