Career Description

The degree program is designed to meet the increasing demands of fire protection employees' various fields of firefighting and fire protection technology. Graduates may find employment in areas of municipal, federal or private industry including fire prevention, public education, investigation and administration work.

Careers Available

Program graduates may seek employment as career firefighters, assistant fire marshals, fire inspectors and private fire protection engineers/inspectors.

Entry-Level Salary

  • $24,500 - $28,000/yr.

Course of Study

Program includes a variety of practical lab experiences.

Recommended Courses and Skills

High school algebra, chemistry and computer skills.

Helpful Personal Attributes

Ability to work as a member of a team and a high level of physical agility. Good oral and written communication skills.
