Career Description

Through written, oral and hands on testing, the student will become familiar with repair practices used in fleet and dealerships to repair road tractors and other heavy equipment.

Careers Available

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be prepared for an entry level position servicing and repairing heavy equipment including but not limited to road tractors and trailers, earth moving equipment, farm equipment and other diesel powered equipment.

Entry-Level Salary

  • $28,000 - $40,000/yr.

Course of Study

Students will receive training in diesel engine repair, electrical systems, electronic engine controls, preventive maintenance, air brakes, suspension and steering systems, mechanical transmissions, drive train and air conditioning/heating systems.

Helpful Personal Attributes

Mechanical aptitude and math skills are a plus.
