Program of Study
Students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program at Forsyth Tech use the
latest technological tools to explore the principles of CAD design, manufacturing methods and
design practices. Upon completion of the MET program, students must design, build, and test a
final working capstone project required for graduation. A strong emphasis is placed on a teamcentered approach to problem solving.
The additive manufacturing lab at The Center for Advanced Manufacturing at Forsyth Tech
gives students the ability to use state of the art industrial grade 3D printers to produce working
prototypes as well as finished products. With some of the region’s most advanced additive
manufacturing capabilities, students have the opportunity to work on real world projects in
partnership with area entrepreneurs and academic institutions.
