Genealogy: Intro

Genealogy is for everyone! Come and enjoy this introductory experience for novice genealogists. The environment will be relaxed, experiential, and personalized. Students will be encouraged to tell their stories, figure out what they know, and what they want to know more about. We will follow the guidelines set forth by the Genealogical Proof Standard and the instructor will provide checklists and resources that students will be able to use in class and at home. This class will help participants understand their ancestors’ lives in the context of significant historical events.

Genealogy: Intermediate

Take the next steps on your genealogy journey! This class is designed for those genealogists who completed the Intro Course, or who are comfortable creating manageable research questions, brainstorming potential resources, and collecting evidence with citations. The class is personalized, with each student working with different research questions and resources, however everyone will be following the same process, the Genealogical Proof Standard. This intermediate course will take students through analysis and correlation of evidence, how to draw conclusions, the concept of proof, what to do with the information (i.e., publishing) and the pros and cons of ancestral DNA testing.

Pickleball League

Try something new and fun! Find out why pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. This course introduces the fundamentals of pickleball. Emphasis is placed on learning the basics of the serve, return of serve, transitioning from service line to non-volley zone, ground strokes (dinks, drop shots, drives and lobs) and the rules and strategies of singles and doubles play. Upon completion, students should be able to apply these skills in pickleball recreational play.

Note: This course is open to all ages and ability levels.

Pickleball Clinic

This 3-hr clinic is designed for beginners to learn the fundamentals of the sport and for students who have some experience and want to build their technique. Upon completion students will understand the rules of the game and have the foundational skills to enjoy recreational play.
