About GEER

We know COVID-19 has created economic hardships for many people and we would like to help you find new jobs and careers with short-term training.  The Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) was created to assist individuals with the costs of training to get back on their feet.  The courses listed below are eligible for scholarships.  If you qualify, you could receive a $750 scholarship for your class!

    • Minimum 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalency
    • Must live in North Carolina
    • Unemployed or underemployed (there are maximum income limits)
    • Must be actively seeking employment
