Caterpillar Inc. is moving ahead with plans for the building of a new factory in the Piedmont Triad. Forsyth Tech will work with Caterpillar to train the employees of this new facility.
Hiring for the facility is expected to begin in late 2011. Forsyth Tech will work with Caterpillar to develop an on-the-job training program for new hires.
In the meantime, Caterpillar has established this website - www.jointeamcaterpillar.com - where you can go to set up your own account and search for future positions. Since the facility code for Winston-Salem has not been established yet, you may search and apply for positions in Normal, IL. These positions will transfer to Winston-Salem in the future.
While waiting for the development of the training and implementation schedule, we encourage you to contact Forsyth Tech’s Educational Career/JobLink Center at 336.734.7748 for information about resume writing classes, interview skills, and the Career Readiness Certificate which will make you more valuable in the workplace.
Even though the JobLink Center does not currently have any new information pertaining to Caterpillar, they can assist you in the following areas:
- Internet access
- Job searches
- Career counseling
- Educational advising
- Information on financial aid
- Resume preparation
- Interview skills
- Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) – a nationally recognized certification provided by ACT and utilized by many prospective employers in the Piedmont Triad
