The Workforce Pell Grant is a federal program that extends Pell Grant funding to short-term career training programs. Starting in January 2027, students can use these funds for workforce training in high-demand fields like healthcare, public safety, and skilled trades.
Like traditional Pell Grants, this is money that does not need to be repaid.

The Nursing Assistant I course at Forsyth Tech is a state approved course which teaches basic nursing skills to the student. Such skills are required to provide personal care for patients, residents, the elderly, and others requiring medical assistance in a healthcare setting. Emphasis is placed on patient safety and infection control, the aging process, communication, legal and ethical issues, patient rights, personal care, vital signs, elimination, nutrition, emergencies, rehabilitation, proper body mechanics and mental health.

The Nursing Assistant II course at Forsyth Tech is a 160 hour state approved course which teaches basic nursing skills to the student in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Tasks include oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, sterile dressing changes, IV fluid assistive activities, ostomy care, gastrostomy feedings/nasogastric feedings, and catheterizations. Classroom, laboratory and clinical learning experiences are included.

Industrial Welding is an intensive introductory course in industrial welding. This course will instruct students in the principles and practices of welding and cutting. Upon completion of Industrial Welding, students will have the knowledge base to sit for various industry-specific certifications.
Fire Academy

Forsyth Tech Fire Academy is an intense 24-week (approximately 6-month) program (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) that uses real life scenarios and conditions to prepare firefighters for the challenges they will face.
Electrical Lineworker

The Electrical Lineworker Program is designed to train individuals who seek to become entry-level electrical line workers for private and public utility companies and related employers.
