Forsyth Tech has earned two regional honors from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), recognizing both the college’s impact on its students and community and the work of one of its leaders.

Forsyth Tech was named the 2026 Southern Region recipient of the ACCT Impact and Success Award, while Dr. Sara Singleton was named the Southern Region recipient of the ACCT Professional Board Staff Member Award.

ACCT announced its 2026 Regional Award recipients on August 7. The annual awards recognize outstanding contributions by community colleges and their leaders across five regions of the country.

“We are incredibly proud to have Forsyth Tech and Dr. Singleton recognized at the regional level,” said Dr. Janet Spriggs, President of Forsyth Tech. “These awards reflect the work happening across our college each day. Our Board of Trustees, faculty and staff share a deep commitment to our students and to the communities we serve. Sara plays an important role in that work, and I am thrilled to see her recognized for the care, skill and leadership she brings to our Board and our college.”

The Impact and Success Award recognizes the work of a community college governing board, or a board and president, to create meaningful results through the college’s educational programs and services. Forsyth Tech was selected as the recipient for ACCT’s Southern Region, which includes community colleges throughout the southeastern United States.

The award highlights the partnership between Forsyth Tech’s Board of Trustees and college leadership and their shared focus on creating opportunities for students, responding to workforce needs and serving Forsyth and Stokes counties.

Singleton serves as the Associate Vice President of Governance & Strategic Innovation at Forsyth Tech and works closely with the college’s Board of Trustees and senior leadership. The Professional Board Staff Member Award recognizes individuals whose work and service strengthen the effectiveness of community college governing boards.

Regional award recipients from across ACCT’s five regions will now be considered for national-level Association Awards. The national recipients will be announced during the 2026 ACCT Leadership Congress in Chicago in October.

ACCT represents more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern more than 1,000 community, technical and junior colleges across the United States and beyond.
