Kinusaiga Art
ConEd
What You’ll Learn
Learn the Japanese art form kinusaiga. Using fabric scraps to create a uniquely dimensional piece, you will learn about composition, color and value as you create your artwork. The fabric is adhered to foam insulation board with a strong adhesive and then tucked into pre-cut channels making a textured picture. This technique was initially developed by artist Maeno Takashi to use scraps from kimonos and other precious silks, but can also be done with quilting cotton or other natural substrates.
Taught by local artist Lee Chappell Monroe, students will create a beautiful, one of a kind piece of art to cherish for many years to come. Sign up today
