Introduction to Autism
Course Description
This course is designed to help prepare individuals to work with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) in educational, home-based, or community settings. Emphasis is on understanding ASDs and working with families of children with ASDs, managing challenging behaviors associated with ASDs, and evidenced-based practices for targeting communication, play, self-help, and social skills of children with ASDs.
Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the student with receive a certificate of completion.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED/or High School Equivalency
OR
College Diploma/College Transcript

To register for EWD courses, please call 336-734-7718 on Monday-Thursday from 9am-4pm and Friday from 9am-noon.
Online registration for this course is not available at this time. The Introduction to Autism course will not be offered in spring 2025.
