Forsyth Technical Community College is thrilled to announce the latest addition to its athletic roster: the Forsyth Tech Trailblazers Competitive Intercollegiate Cornhole Team. Building on a long-standing tradition of student excellence and innovation, Forsyth Tech is officially taking the beloved tailgate pastime to the collegiate level.

The new program aims to attract top-tier bag-tossing talent from across North Carolina and the nation. Prospective athletes will be evaluated on their pitching mechanics, airmail accuracy, slide techniques, and overall board strategy.

“We are always looking for new ways to engage our students and foster a spirit of fierce, Trailblazer competition,” said a totally real, definitely not made-up college athletics spokesperson. “After observing the unparalleled wrist-flicking and bag-tossing accuracy of our students on the quad, we knew it was time to sanction this as an official sport. The bags will fly, and history will be made.”

In a move that sends shockwaves through the newly formed intercollegiate cornhole community, Forsyth Tech is proud to announce that President Dr. Janet Spriggs will serve as the team’s Head Coach. Dr. Spriggs, noted for her powerful leadership and unyielding competitive drive, has stated that she is taking hands-on control. “Our board is set and our bags are packed,” said Dr. Spriggs. “Domination is the only option, and I look forward to bringing a level of strategic intensity that only a president with a true competitive heart can provide. I play to win, and this team will too.”

Blaze, Forsyth Tech’s official grey fox mascot, is already geared up for the inaugural season and will be leading the charge at all home matches, ensuring the crowd’s energy stays at a fever pitch.
