Completing the Pre-Apprenticeship does not guarantee selection as an apprentice but helps build skills that improve your chances. The class introduces Health Sciences, Transportation, and Information Technology and includes interaction with local employers.

Summer Bridge Program – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The Forsyth Tech Summer Bridge Program offerings are structured, short-term experiences designed to help high school students successfully transition into college, gain exposure to career and workforce training and gain college credit at Forsyth Technical Community College.
The program supports students in building confidence, academic readiness, and connection to campus resources before the fall semester begins.
Summer Bridge is designed for:
- First-time college students
- Recent high school graduates
- Rising 10th, 11th, and 12 Grade Students in WSFCS
- Students who want to build community before classes begin
If you want a strong, supported start — this program is for you.
Students may receive support in areas such as:
- College success strategies
- Earn early college credit
- Time management and goal setting
- Study skills
- Digital literacy and learning management system navigation
- Career pathway exploration
- Campus resource awareness
Program length varies depending on the specific track, but most Summer Bridge programs run for approximately seven (7) weeks prior to the start of the fall semester.
Specific dates and schedules will be provided upon registration.
Summer Bridge programs are offered at no cost to WSFCS students.
Some programs may include textbook support, or resource materials.
Details will be shared for each specific bridge program.
Some Summer Bridge programs include credit-bearing coursework, while others focus on skill-building and preparation.
Participants will be informed in advance if academic credit is included.
Programs may be held:
- On various campus locations of Forsyth Technical Community College
Location details are provided upon acceptance.
Students who complete Summer Bridge often:
