TEAS stands for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, and it is required of most students who enroll in one of the Health Sciences programs.
How Long is the TEAS test?
The TEAS test is a 209-minute timed exam that is divided into four different subject areas
- Reading – 45 Questions (55 Minutes)
- Mathematics – 38 Questions (57 Minutes)
- Science – 50 Questions (60 Minutes)
- English & Language Usage – 37 Questions (37 Minutes)

How many times can I test?
The TEAS test can be taken up to four times in a 12-month period on the following schedule:
- First attempt
- 7-day remediation period
- Second attempt
- 90-day remediation period
- Third attempt
- 7-day remediation period
- Fourth Attempt

Students who choose to take a proctored exam through ATI will be charged $120 per exam. Students who test through Forsyth Tech will be charged $110 per exam. Financial assistance may be available to qualified Forsyth Tech students. For more information, contact:
How do I register and pay for the TEAS exam?
Visit the ATI TEAS website

Click on “Exam Registration”
Choose to test In-Person or Remote
Indicate if you are a Nursing or Allied Health student and select Forsyth Tech
Choose the desired appointment and provide the necessary information to schedule and pay for your appointment
Within 24 hours (business days) you should receive an appointment confirmation with instructions on preparing for your exam and what to do on exam day.
How do I request a refund?
ATI’s refund policy is very strict, and it is discussed on their website under “Things to Know Before Registering.” Once you purchase the exam, the sale is final. That means the fee is not refundable, but you may be permitted to reschedule for an additional fee of $15. Forsyth Tech no longer collects fees, and any request to reschedule must be directed to ATI.
What do I need to bring to my exam appointment?
You must have a valid photo ID. No one will be seated without a photo ID. The testing center will provide paper, pencils, and a calculator.
How will I receive my results?
Once you have completed your exam, you can download a report from your ATI account. That report can be saved as a PDF file and uploaded to your MAR application.
What if I need extended time or other accommodation?
Individuals who require extended time or separate testing accommodation must contact our Accessibility Resources office well before your exam date. If you have already registered with the Accessibility Resources office, you must request that they forward your accommodation to the testing center before your exam date. If you fail to acquire the necessary accommodation before your exam date, we cannot guarantee they will be available.
