The Basics
The Health & Wellness Center is an on-campus clinic at Forsyth Tech, located in Bob Greene Hall, Room W121. It is staffed by a Novant Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and offers real medical care right where you go to school.
You asked for it. We built it.
The Health & Wellness Center opens at the start of Fall 2026. Watch your Forsyth Tech email and social media for the official opening date and grand opening event details.
Bob Greene Hall, Room W121. It is centrally located on the main campus and accessible for commuter students. Signage will be posted throughout Bob Greene Hall to help you find it.
The clinic is operated by Novant Health, one of the region’s most recognized health systems. Forsyth Tech provides the space and coordinates the program. Clinical care is delivered by Novant Health’s licensed providers.
Services
The clinic offers a wide range of services, including:
Primary and acute care (colds, infections, injuries, and more)
Chronic disease education and management
Women’s health services and minor procedures
Wellness and preventive health programming
24/7 behavioral and mental health support
Telehealth access for online and off-site students
Athletic training support for Forsyth Tech student athletes (up to 280 hours per year)
Yes. The Health & Wellness Center includes 24/7 behavioral and mental health support. This means you can access mental health resources any time, day or night, not just during clinic hours.
The clinic also connects to Forsyth Tech’s broader student support network, including the BEAR Team, which provides coordinated care for students experiencing personal or emotional crises.
Yes. Telehealth services are available specifically for online and off-site students. You can connect with a Novant Health provider virtually without needing to come to campus.
The clinic handles primary and acute care but is not an emergency room. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
For urgent but non-emergency concerns, the clinic is a great first stop.
Yes. As an Advanced Practice Provider, the Novant Health clinician can prescribe medications as appropriate. For specialty or complex prescriptions, you may be referred to an outside provider.
The Student Health Fee
There is a $20 per-semester student health fee. Once that fee is paid, you have unlimited access to clinic services with no co-pays and no additional charges for visits.
That works out to less than 14 cents a day.
The $20 health fee is included in your semester billing as part of your student fees. You do not need to sign up separately. As long as you are enrolled and have paid your fees, you are covered.
Your $20 covers unlimited clinic visits per semester with no co-pays, access to primary care, women’s health, chronic disease education, preventive health services, 24/7 mental health support, and telehealth access. It also supports athletic training services for student athletes.
There are no surprise charges for standard clinic services covered under this agreement.
The $20 fee covers all standard clinic services provided by Novant Health under the agreement. If you require services outside the scope of the clinic’s offering, such as lab work sent to an outside facility, specialist referrals, or prescriptions, those would be handled separately and may involve your personal insurance or out-of-pocket costs.
The clinic team will always let you know before any additional charges apply.
Yes. The $20 health fee is a standard student fee that applies to all eligible enrolled students. This is the same model used at many colleges and universities for services like student activity fees. The fee is what makes it possible to offer the clinic to everyone at an affordable rate.
Think of it like car insurance: you pay it so the coverage is there when you need it.
CCP students enrolled in fewer than eight credit hours are excluded from the health fee calculation. If you have questions about whether the fee applies to your enrollment status, contact the Business Office or Student Services.
Online students who pay the health fee have access to telehealth services through the clinic. If you feel the fee does not apply to your situation, contact the Business Office to discuss your options.
Telehealth access is included precisely so that distance does not create a barrier.
The health fee follows the same refund policy as other student fees. If you withdraw within the standard refund period, you may be eligible for a refund in accordance with Forsyth Tech’s published fee refund schedule. Contact the Business Office for specifics.
Using the Clinic
Walk-ins are welcome during clinic hours. For non-urgent matters, you may also be able to schedule an appointment. Details on scheduling will be available when the clinic opens.
The clinic will initially operate 24 hours per week during the academic year. Specific days and hours will be published before the Fall 2026 opening. Evening and off-site mental health support is available 24/7 regardless of clinic hours.
Bring your Forsyth Tech student ID and any relevant health information you want to share with the provider (current medications, allergies, etc.). You do not need to bring insurance cards for standard clinic services covered by your health fee.
Yes. The clinic operates under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy protections. Your medical information is confidential and will not be shared with Forsyth Tech faculty, staff, or other students without your consent.
Novant Health maintains your medical records as the clinical provider.
The clinic is designed to serve you through your health fee, so you do not need to use personal insurance for standard covered services. If you have questions about a specific service or situation, ask the clinic team when you arrive.
If additional care is needed, the Novant Health provider can assist with referrals to specialists or community providers. Access to the broader Novant Health network is available; however, services received outside of the campus clinic are not included in the student health fee and any associated costs are the responsibility of the student and/or their insurance provider.
For Specific Student Situations
Yes. The whole point of the clinic is to remove barriers to care. Your health fee is your access. You do not need insurance to use standard clinic services. This is one of the most important benefits for students who are uninsured or underinsured.
The clinic is designed with you in mind. Walk-in access during clinic hours means no need to take time off work to schedule an appointment weeks in advance. Telehealth is also available for situations where coming to campus is not practical.
Yes. The clinic includes up to 280 hours of athletic training support per year specifically for Forsyth Tech student athletes. Your coach or athletic department staff can provide more details on how to access this service.
The clinic is currently designed for enrolled Forsyth Tech students. Expansion to dependents and employees is planned for future phases as the program grows. Watch for announcements as the clinic matures.
Reach out. The Health & Wellness Center is a judgment-free resource. If you are not sure whether your concern is a fit for the clinic, call or walk in and the team will point you in the right direction.
24/7 behavioral and mental health support is also available, so you do not have to wait for clinic hours if something feels urgent.
You can also reach out to Forsyth Tech Counseling Services any time for connection to additional support and resources.
