Frequently asked questions

The International Center is located inside Forsyth Tech Community College’s West Campus that is situated at 1300 Bolton St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

The Center assists anyone who needs information and guidance about multicultural topics, but predominantly interacts with and guides clients whose first language is not English. At the same time, the Center helps Forsyth Tech personnel and students, as well as US-based companies network with and serve the newcomers to our communities.

The Center is a Forsyth Tech outreach center and therefore is maintained by Forsyth Tech Community College.    For some of the programs, such as the Spanish High School Equivalency, the Center receives additional funding    from grants and private donors.

We are always looking for volunteers, call us at (336) 734-7984!   We would be delighted to have you on-board!

Civics education is critical knowledge that helps one survive and thrive in our community. It covers learning about government, law, current events, how the school system works, how our neighborhood associations work, how public transportation functions, etc.

English classes are run every semester in both on-campus and off-campus locations. Students that have not been attending classes the previous semester must take an Orientation and Testing session in order to be correctly placed within their learning level.

  • Classes are held from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, 12:15 to 3:15 pm, and 6:00 to 9:00 pm from Mondays through Thursdays. Saturday classes also available.
