Some Economic Workforce Development (EWD) programs require minimum scores on TABE 9/10 reading, math or language test(s) before students are allowed into the programs. These are paper-based tests administered at the West Campus Testing Center.
Does my program require a placement test?
Listed are the EWD programs that currently require TABE placement testing. For information
on the programs and entrance requirements, call 336-734-7023. For information and entrance
requirements for the Basic EMT program, call 336-757-3057.
TABE testing for entrance into the Phlebotomy program. Students referred for
placement testing must attain at least a 10th grade proficiency level on the TABE
9/10 D Reading test.
TABE testing for students in Interpreting in Health and Human Services
Spanish/English Advanced Grammar class. Upon completion of the class, these
students must attain at least a 10th grade proficiency on the TABE 9/10D Reading
and Language tests in English and the 9M Reading and Language test in Spanish.
ABE/HSE/ESL Students schedule themselves for initial placement testing via an Element 451 linkrnthat is sent to students after they attend a CCR Orientation session.rnrnScheduling for retesting is completed in one of three ways: students schedule themselves viarnthe online link through Element 451 that is sent to them by CCR staff; CCR staff membersrntelephone students with the testing information; or CCR coordinators work with testing staff tornschedule entire classes for testing. Students will be informed of post testing procedures by theirrnCCR instructors or by CCR staff.

TABE testing for students entering the Emergency Medical Technician Basic
program. Students must score at least an 11th grade proficiency level on the TABE
9/10 D Reading test.

The schedule is flexible but generally EWD TABE placement tests are administered on
