Join award-winning fiddler and violinist Beth Hyland for a dynamic 3-hour workshop that transforms classical technique into authentic fiddle style. In FiddleWorkshop: Make Your Violin Sound Like a Fiddle, you’ll explore bowing patterns, ornamentation, and improvisation techniques designed to infuse your playing with folk-inspired flair. Bonding Through Play(Ages 3 to 5)

Yoga Introduction

This welcoming beginner yoga class is designed for those who are new to yoga or anyone looking to strengthen their foundational practice. You’ll be guided through essential poses with a focus on proper alignment, body awareness, and safe movement, all at a comfortable pace. Each session incorporates simple breathing techniques to help calm the mind and support your physical practice.

Pickleball Intermediate

This intermediate pickleball class is for players with 6 months to 1 year of experience who are ready to move beyond the beginner level. You’ll refine your technique, improve shot accuracy, and learn strategic court positioning through targeted drills and gameplay. Ideal for those looking to elevate their skills beyond the basics.

Pickleball for Beginners

This class is designed to introduce new players to the fundamentals of Pickleball. Participants will learn basic techniques such as how to serve and score, as well as the rules and etiquette of the game. Returning students needing a refresher are welcome!

Introduction to Asian Meditation

Curious about meditation but not sure where to start? This introductory course is the perfect entry point for beginners who want to explore the fundamentals of mindfulness and meditation in a supportive, approachable setting. You will learn a variety of Asian meditation techniques, including Hindu concentration, Buddhist mindfulness, Buddhist Zen ‘just sitting,’ Tibetan Buddhist mandalas, Daoist visualization, as well as moving meditation and qigong energy work. We will introduce how to do these practices in non-religious ways, what benefits the tradition claims, & what scientific research has to say about the benefits and limitations of these meditations.

Sign Language – Intermediate

Advance your signing skills with our Intermediate ASL (American Sign Language) class! This personal enrichment class is designed for those who have a basic understanding of ASL and want to deepen their knowledge and fluency. Learn more complex signs, improve your fingerspelling speed, and enhance your conversational abilities. The goals for this class are to grow your confidence and language abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of the Deaf Culture.

Natural Haircare

Unlock the secrets to nurturing and styling natural hair with our Natural Haircare courses, offered in collaboration with Gifted Hands Academy. Designed for individuals passionate about embracing and enhancing the beauty of natural hair, these courses empower you with the skills and knowledge needed to care for and style diverse hair textures.

Notary Training

Certain legal documents, such as property deeds, wills and business agreements, require the impartial signature of a Notary Public. A Notary Public screens signers of important legal documents, confirming identities, and more.

Residential Wiring

We are offering a new course that will focus on the basics of residential electrical wiring installation. Topics will include installation of fixtures, switches, and outlets.

Computer Technology Courses

Basic computer skills are necessary in most jobs today. Our Computer Technology courses teach you computer fundamentals and introduce you to the most commonly used types of software.

Bartending

This bartending course introduces students to the craft of bartending, covering ABC laws, alcohol categories, bartending equipment, and a variety of cocktail recipes

Welding: Basics, ARC, Industrial, MIG and TIG

From basics to artistry to construction, our range of welding courses will build your skills with safety in mind. Most welding courses last one semester.

Rivian Technical Trades Program

The Rivian Technical Trades Program is an exciting opportunity to start your career in electric vehicle (EV) technology, combining classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training. This program is a paid internship starting, with a minimum of 40 hours/week. Students will gain hands-on experience through classroom and lab instruction as well as experience in a Rivian service center with real-world customer vehicles.

HVAC Service Technician Level 1 & 2

This is an introductory course, designed to prepare the student for an occupation in the air conditioning and refrigeration trade.

Facility Maintenance Technician

Gain basic skills to look after and maintain a broad range of facilities. Course topics include electrical system
maintenance, heating/air conditioning system troubleshooting, plumbing, appliance repair, and basic carpentry. page

Electrical Lineworker

The Electrical Lineworker Program is designed to train individuals who seek to become entry-level electrical line workers for private and public utility companies and related employers. Students will learn the academic and field skills necessary for entry-level positions. Safety is stressed in every aspect of the coursework.

Electrical: Installation/Troubleshooting

This is an introductory course into the electrical trade. Students will gain theoretical and practical experience in electrical installations and repairs.

CDL Training

CDL drivers are in high demand! In just four weeks, learn everything you need to hit the road.  This program includes classroom instruction and hands on training with automatic transmission trucks.

Basic Construction

Receive instruction in the principles of residential and light commercial construction from the planning and beginning stages all the way to a completed structure. Learn about NC Building Codes, OSHA Construction Safety, blue print reading, along with safety guidelines regarding construction tools and equipment.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is a way for technicians to show mastery of a variety of automotive components.  Forsyth Tech offers classes to help technicians prepare for these examinations.  The classes offered include brake systems, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.

Automotive Refresher

We currently are offering two Automotive Refresher Courses geared toward professionals working in the Automotive Industry that would like to deepen their expertise in engine performance.  These courses are held at our Transportation building and include class lectures and hands on practice. Both courses focus on the practical applications and troubleshooting. 

Auto Safety and OBD II

NC State requires a certification to perform Auto Safety Inspections and Emissions testing . Forsyth Tech offers both of these 8-hour courses. The courses can each be completed in one 8-hour day or two 4-hour evenings.

Foundations of Human Resources Management

Forsyth Tech offers three practical training paths. You can begin your HR journey with the Foundations of Human Resources Management Training Certificate program, prepare for the SHRM Examination as a mid-career professional, or earn SHRM Specialty Credentials to become a designated expert on a subject in your field. Continue to grow and earn recertification with intermediate and advanced elective courses in HR.
