We offer two dual enrollment tracks at Forsyth Tech:

We have two additional programs that high school students can take part in: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and High School Fire Academy. CNA is only available at Stokes County High Schools and HSFireAcademy is only available at Stokes County High Schools, WSPA and Carver. HS Aviation Pathway is only available at Mazie S. Woodruff Aviation Center.

Our dual enrollment courses provide students with the academic and technical skills to succeed–whether you know what course of study you would like to pursue or you’re undecided. With classes and programs in the arts, sciences, engineering, and technical pathways, you can get a head start on your college and career prep and earn credit toward your degree.
Who Can Enroll?
If you’re in high school, you probably qualify
If you are junior or senior and you have an unweighted 2.8 or higher GPA, you
are eligible.
High-school freshman and sophomore students who are identified as
academically gifted in English, reading and math are eligible to apply.
We also require:
● High school principal or equivalent administrator recommendation
verifying maturity to enroll
● AIG Coordinator recommendation
● Forsyth Tech Administrative approval
● Parent/guardian’s written consent
● Academic advising prior to enrollment

Our dual enrollment courses provided students with academic and technical
skills in arts, sciences, engineering, and technical pathways.
No. Dual Enrollment is open to most high school juniors and seniors with a 2.8
GPA or test scores. It’s designed for students with a wide range of GPAs.
Definitely. Dual Enrollment lets you try college classes, build skills, and explore
careers without pressure. It’s a low-risk way to see what fits your future.
Eligible high school students pay no tuition for Dual Enrollment. You may need
to cover books, fees, or supplies, but the classes themselves are free.
Yes. Credits in transfer pathways move to most NC four-year universities if you
earn a C or better. Forsyth Tech helps you choose courses that count.

Advising Session
Step 5
Meet with your dual enrollment high school advisor to plan college classes. Your advisor will reach out to you with a way to set up a meeting with them.
Orientation Session
Step 6
Attending an orientation session after meeting with your advisor is key to your success in the program. Register for an orientation session to help make sure you are prepared for the exciting days ahead as a dual enrollment student.
