Forsyth Tech receives grant for Workforce Continuing Education scholarships from the SECU Foundation
Forsyth Tech News
Forsyth Tech is proud to announce that we are recipients of an annual $18,000 Bridge to Career grant from the SECU Foundation, with $15,000 dedicated specifically to student scholarships. This money will support scholarships for our Workforce Continuing Education students, helping students gain access to training programs that prepare them for meaningful careers and long-term success in today’s workforce.
The SECU Foundation established the Bridge to Career Program to help North Carolinians access short-term workforce training opportunities that lead directly to employment. By reducing financial barriers, the program allows students to focus on developing the skills and certifications needed for high-demand careers.
The SECU Foundation was created to support local and community development by funding high impact projects in the areas of housing, education, healthcare and human services and continues to make a lasting impact on students across North Carolina through its commitment to education and workforce development. Since its creation in 2005, the SECU Foundation’s “People Helping People” scholarship program has represented an annual commitment of more than $5 million and has contributed over $81 million toward helping students pursue higher education and career opportunities, making it one of the most impactful scholarship programs within the North Carolina Community College System.
Forsyth Tech is deeply grateful for the continued partnership and support from the SECU Foundation. Investments like the Bridge to Career grant not only help students complete training programs, but also create pathways toward stable careers, economic mobility and long-term community growth. Workforce Continuing Education courses offer short-term training for individuals through non-credit courses that vary in length from a few hours to several hundred hours, depending on their purpose and content.
